Expeditions (Ages 11 - 15)
Are you looking for an exciting outdoor experience? Let
Cosby Expeditions take you to it! Cosby Expeditions are
specially designed for children from the age of 11 through
15.
Cosby Expeditions travel all over the Southeast. Our
highly qualified trip leaders provide each child with a safe
outdoor adventure. The Cosby Expeditions will be something a
child will remember for the rest of his or her life! Each
trip is different, but all incorporate outdoor survival
skills as part of each child’s learning.
Caving, Hiking, Backpacking, Climbing, Canoeing,
Kayaking, and Whitewater Rafting are all possible with Cosby
Expeditions!
2011 Expedition Trips:
Session 1 (June 5th – 11th): Climbing & Kayaking
Camp at Horse Pens 40, climb at Palisades, and kayak on the
Locust Fork from King's Bend to Swann Bridge
Session 2 (June 12th – 18th): Backpacking, Rappelling, &
Climbing
Start the trip by a one-night backpack at Cheaha State Park,
then set up a campsite and go rappelling and climbing
Session 3 (June 19th – 24th): Caving & Climbing
Camp at Horse Pens 40, climb at Palisades, and cave in a
wild cave with waterfalls and a stream
Session 6 (July 10th- 16th): Kayaking & Bouldering
Camp at Horse Pens 40, kayak on the Locust Fork from King's
Bend to Swann Bridge, and boulder at HP 40 (which is one of
the best bouldering areas in the southeast)
Session 7 (July 17th – 23rd): Caving & Climbing
Camp at Horse Pens 40, climb at Palisades, and cave in a
wild cave with waterfalls and a stream
Session 8 (July 24th – 30th): Backpacking, Rappelling, &
Climbing
Start the trip by a one-night backpack at Cheaha State Park,
then set up a campsite and go rappelling and climbing



Expedition general program schedule:
Sunday & Monday: check-in, packing, low/high ropes &
team building
Tuesday morning: leave for off-site trip
Tuesday afternoon - Friday morning: off-site trip
Friday afternoon/evening: arrive back at camp,
unpack, gear/bus cleanup, end-of-week ceremonies
Saturday morning: camper check-out |
